Last year Theatre Network Australia (TNA) launched the pilot of its LeaderShift program to address the lack of diverse people in leadership positions. Currently, fewer than a fifth of people in executive level positions identify as having diverse lived experienced, according to TNA’s 2021 Salary Survey.
In an earlier interview, Joshua Lowe from TNA, who is running LeaderShift, said the sector needs to recognise that there is an existing pool of diverse candidates, but workplace barriers such as cultural safety and underemployment remain barriers to entry.
