Draft Guidelines Released For NPEA

The Federal Government has released guidelines on how it will spend the money it has taken from the Australia Council in order to fund Minister Brandis’ proposed National Program for Excellence in the Arts (NPEA).

Richard Watts wrote an analysis of the guidelines for Arts Hub on Wednesday 1 July, 2015.  “Most of the reaction from within the sector has focused on concern about what will not be funded, particularly projects by individual artists and new media. Artists have also expressed concern that the guidelines lack specific direction or criteria to balance the loss of independent assesment and peer review. Read the full article here.

Feedback on the draft guidelines is invited from the arts sector and the broader community, and should be submitted by 5pm AEST 31 July 2015.

Submissions to the Senate Inquiry into the NPEA are due Friday 17 July 2015.
