Election resources for the arts – ArtsHub

ArtsHub
26 April 2022

With the Federal election called for 21 May, the sector is calling on colleagues, artists, and the public to campaign and advocate for arts and culture. ArtsHub has gathered a list of resources that can help put a callout to the nation’s leaders, from posting a banner on social media to how to write a letter to your MP.

The team at Regional Arts have called on the sector to create messaging that unites the different art forms and geographies. ‘Art and culture are Everywhere’ and ‘Art and culture are Essential’ are the two major slogans, with Theatre Network Australia providing online social media tiles and banners for anyone to use and join the advocacy. Join RAA’s and sector colleagues in this messaging by sharing images and tagging socials #ArtAndCultureAreEverywhere #ArtAndCultureAreEssential #VoteForArt. Find the resources here.

In addition to advocacy resources, Theatre Network Australia has provided a template if you want to take your action further and write a letter/email to your MP to advocate for arts and culture. TNA has also gathered facts and statistics to include, as well as a interactive map from the Australia Council to find your electorate, MP and candidates.
