TNA’s New Ethics Framework
TNA has been thinking more about the uncertainty of our times, and the importance of making decisions that we can be proud of. This has led us to develop a guiding document that establishes a clear point of reference when making decisions across our organisation, whether big or small.
TNA’s Transition to More Ethical Banking
In 2023, TNA became part of the A Climate For Art coalition, and made the pledge to divest our finances from fossil-fuel supporting banks. We share our experiences on transitioning to more ethical banking.

NATIONAL STUFF
Culturally Safe Leadership Program 2025 with Veronica Pardo (In-Person or Online)
Four three-hour workshops on building culturally safe organisational cultures. Aimed towards up-skilling leaders and managers working in the arts and cultural sectors. Topics include cultural safety, equity, power, and learning to repair. Early-bird registrations close 31 Dec. Cost: $1,200.
4 Dec – Accessible Arts Creative Partnerships and Pathways (NSW and Online)
A free panel on creative paths for artists with disabilities or who are d/Deaf. Featuring Kerri Glasscock (Sydney Fringe), Jeremy Lowrenčev (Limitless Sydney Fringe), and more. In-person networking to follow.
5 Dec – Workforce Australia ‘Mutual Obligation Requirements for Visual and Creative Artists’
An information session for arts workers receiving JobSeeker or other unemployment payments. The session will cover meeting mutual obligation requirements and Income Testing.
9 Dec – Arts Tasmania Grants (TAS)
Arts Tasmania is offering one-off funding for orgs to deliver strategic initiatives and services in the arts. It includes $150,000 for TAS regional arts orgs, and $150,000 for theatre service orgs.
9 Dec – PAC Australia Tour Producer Training (Online)
A four-month program for producers, artists, and companies to build skills in developing national tours. Two courses on offer. One for emerging tour producers, and one for producers familiar with national touring. Applications for emerging producers close in December. Tiered cost from $363.
13 Dec – ‘Once On This Island’ Auditions (NSW)
Seeking performers for a number of roles for the Olivier Award-winning musical. To be presented at Hayes Theatre.
16 Dec – Brand X Ground Zero (Sydney)
For Sydney-based disabled and/or D/deaf performance makers to create a short work. This will be performed in a cabaret-style night. Brand X provides a $1,500 artist fee, $500 production budget, up to $2,000 bursary for access costs, and more.
16 Dec – Columbia University’s Obama Foundation Scholars Program (US)
Fully funded nine-month program for rising leaders with a demonstrated commitment to finding solutions to challenges in their communities and countries. It includes professional development workshops and weekly seminars at Columbia University in New York.
17 Dec – Legs on the Wall Leg Up 2025 EOIs (NSW)
Free mentorship and professional development for emerging artists. With the potential for future work with Legs On The Wall.
10 Jan – DFAT ASEAN-Australia Grants
Grants of $50,000–$200,000 for creative industry exchange between Australia and Southeast Asia. Or for cultural initiatives to drive two-way trade, tourism, and business.
12 Jan – Tracks Dance Choreolab 2025 (NT)
10-week workshop program on choreography, collaboration, devising and dance-making. For participants with some level of experience in dance or movement. Cost: $300, scholarships are available.
14 Jan – DFAT Australia-Indonesia Institute Grants
$10,000–$50,000 for arts and culture programs that raise awareness of Australia in Indonesia, and of Indonesia in Australia.
14 Jan – The Ian Potter Cultural Trust’s Emerging Artist Grants
Up to $15,000 to assist talented emerging and early-career artists. To take up professional development opportunities, usually overseas.
20 Jan – Arts QLD Organisations Fund 2026-2029
Four-year funding for small-to-medium Queensland arts orgs. To support operations and programs. The minimum funding an org can request is $100,000 for four years.
24 Jan – Chamber Made Orange House Residency 2025
3-week residency for mid-career women and gender-diverse artists working in cross-artform practice. The artist receives $3,000, mentorship, and accommodation.
28 Jan – National Disability Conference Initiative 2025-26
Up to $10,000 for conference organisers. To assist people with disability to attend nationally focused, disability-related, conferences.
4 Feb – The Marten Bequest Scholarships 2025
Offering $50,000 scholarships over two years for ballet artists. To travel interstate and/or overseas to explore and develop their art.
28 Feb – James N Kirby Foundation Small Grants
Up to $15,000 for orgs with programs that increase exposure and accessibility to the arts.
4 March – Creative Australia Playing Australia
Supports orgs to run performing arts tours. To reach regional and remote communities across Australia.
17 March – Create NSW Creative Industries Connectivity Grant (NSW)
New funding for NSW arts and cultural orgs. To partner with larger creative industry orgs and businesses on a project with potential for ongoing outcomes.
Destination NSW and NSW First (NSW)
NSW orgs can list their visitor experiences on Destination NSW’s website for free. The listings are aimed at international and national tourists. Destination NSW also has a resource hub for businesses looking to promote their experiences to visitors.
Carclew Blak Seeds Fest First Nations Artists EOIs
Carclew’s emerging First Nations creatives cohort are seeking First Nations creatives to present work/performances. As part of their Adelaide Fringe Event, Blak Seeds Fest.
Adelaide Fringe Festival Honey Pot
Registrations are open for artists and producers to take part in the international marketplace in 2025, running alongside Fringe. Artists with work registered for Fringe can opt into Honey Pot at no extra cost.
Free Google Ad Grants for Not-For-Profits
Not-for-profits are entitled to $10,000 per month in Google Ads. This is to drive conversions for their org. They will need to prove their eligibility.
A New Approach Transformative Edge 2024
A New Approach has released a report on how arts, culture, and creativity impact our prosperity, cohesion, security, health and sustainability.

8 Dec – Theatre Works Associate Secondments 2025
Secondments for emerging theatre-makers, directors, designers or producers. To assist in productions at Theatre Works. Successful applicants will be paid a nominal fee of $500.
12 Dec – Coburg Court House Residency 2025
For performers, theatre-makers and/or dancers to occupy the venue for up to three months for free.
12 Dec – Gippsland Performing Arts Centre Summer Residency EOIs
Offering artists and performing arts creatives time and free space for a development across January and February 2025.
15 Dec – PO PO MO CO Physical Theatre Training
Free training for emerging physical theatre maker-performers. To deepen their practice through technique, experience, and cross-pollination. The training will culminate in a work-in-progress showing of re-worked, rehearsed devised pieces.
16 Dec – Melbourne Theatre Company Future Creatives 2025
Two-year development program for aspiring theatre designers from historically underrepresented cultural backgrounds. Participants will gain paid and credited roles on two Melbourne Theatre Company productions as Assistant Designers.
13 Jan – City of Melbourne Community Event Grants
Up to $10,000 for not-for-profit orgs to run community-building events.
31 Jan – Showcase Victoria 2025 EOIs
The performing arts touring marketplace will be held on 20–21 May 2025, at The Round in Nunawading. EOIs for artists and producers to take part open in January.
Melbourne International Comedy Festival – Family-Friendly Comedy EOIs
The festival programs a range of events aimed at young people and families, both within the festival and around the calendar year. EOIs are open for performers with comic material. It can be verbal, physical, or musical. It must work in indoor, outdoor, or street contexts.
Next Wave Strategic Plan 2025–2028
Next Wave has released their Strategic Plan for 2025–28. It outlines how the org will support early-career creative practitioners through their programs.

20 Dec – ‘I Teatri del Mondo’ International Theatre Festival for Children
Open call for performances to take part in the festival in Italy, July 2025. Performances should have no words or few, clear ones. They must suit children under 12.
17 Jan – Youth Theatre Journal
The Youth Theatre Journal is open for submissions. They seek research-based articles, reflections, and unpublished scripts of plays written for and by young people.
31 Jan – Diversity Arts Australia Story Casters 2.0 EOIs (NSW)
There are workshops in dramaturgy, theatre writing, directing, and making/devising. For CaLD theatre enthusiasts aged 18–30.
CAPT STUFF (Circus and Physical Theatre)
15 Dec – Flying Fruit Fly Circus Under Construction 2025 Residencies
For artists to develop and perform original new circus and physical theatre works. They get $5,000, two weeks of access to rehearsal space and equipment, and free accommodation.
15 Dec – ‘Winter Circus’ 2025–26 Open Call
Seeking international circus artists to perform in ‘Winter Circus’. This is a show produced by Dance Theatre Hurjaruuth, in Helsinki, Finland.
5 Jan – ROOKE Emerging Artist Program
Supporting artists aged 16–26 through mentorship and coaching. This includes creating, rehearsing, and touring work. In-person in TAS and online. Financial support for travel and accommodation is available as part of the program.
