Federal Election Email Templates for Engaging Your MP
With the federal election approaching, now is the time to ensure that arts and culture remain a national priority. TNA has a series of email templates to help advocate for stronger investment in the arts. We also have published tips for engaging with politicians on arts policy.

TNA’s Submission on Financial Reporting Changes
The Federal Government is proposing changes to financial reporting for not-for-profits (NFPs). This will impact many small and medium arts organisations. TNA has made a submission to ensure the needs of small and medium performing arts organisations are considered.

Young and Wise: Key Insights for the Arts
The Young and Wise report looks at what Australian children and young people need to thrive. TNA has written a summary on the report breaking down the key findings most relevant to the arts sector.

9 March – Melbourne Fringe Radical Access Commission
$40,000 commission for an experienced Deaf, Disabled or Neurodivergent artist to create a new work for the 2025 Melbourne Fringe Festival

15 March – Pina Bausch Fellowship 2025 EOIs
For dance artists to undertake professional and artistic development with a co-operating partner. Co-operating partners can be a notable person or institution from dance and choreography. 2,500 EUR for a full-time fellowship or 1,000 EUR for part-time. Can take place virtually, hybrid, or on site.

16 March – QShowcase: Arts Market and Conference (QLD)
Queensland’s performing arts market. For artists and producers to directly pitch work to venues and presenters.

17 March – Create NSW Arts and Cultural Funding (NSW)
Two opportunities closing soon. Creative Industries Connectivity Grants offer up to $50,000. For collaboration between the arts and cultural sector and broader creative industries. Regional Arts Touring offers up to $120,000 to tour arts and cultural work across regional NSW.

17 March – Australian Plays Transform Erin Thomas Regional Playwrights Fund 2025
Supports emerging regional playwrights. $1,000 for the playwright for dramaturgical mentorship, with $1,000 paid to the mentor too. An additional $1,000 travel bursary to connect with the broader Australian theatre industry.

18 March ­– Festival Australia Round 20
Funding for arts activities taking place in a festival or community celebration in a regional or remote area.

20 March – Country Arts SA Project Grants (SA)
Up to $30,000 for projects that benefit regional or remote artists, arts workers, audiences and communities

20 March – Arts on Tour’s Salon EOIs (NSW & ACT)
Arts on Tour’s annual networking and showcase event is on 18 June in Sydney. Artists and producers can apply to pitch their work to venues and presenters.

23 March – Arts Centre Melbourne Frank Van Straten Fellowship 2025
$15,000 for a Fellow to undertake research in the Australian Performing Arts Collection.

23 March – CuriousWorks ‘Holding Space’ EOIs
For artists to participate in CuriousWorks’ program in 2025–2027. CuriousWorks is looking for artistic commissions, creative developments, workshops, and public programs. They should encourage connectedness within and across cultures and communities. The theme is ‘Rituals of Welcome’.

24 March – Force Majeure INCITE Masterclass Applications (Sydney)
A two-day introductory course exploring Force Majeure’s devising process. Learn how to generate movement and text as a performer, director and collaborator. Led by Artistic Director Danielle Micich. $195.

24–28 March – Not-For-Profit Insurance Week Webinars
Aon and the Institute of Community Directors will be running a series of free webinars on insurance. Learn about the key factors that influence insurance coverage and premiums, and common risks for not-for-profit boards.

24 March–14 April – Arts on Tour Free Online Sessions: Greening Production-Making
For directors, creatives and production departments to integrate emissions reduction strategies in their practices. Topics include: Materials and Making, Production, Producing and Events, Carbon Foot Printing and Impact Reduction, and Innovation and New Technology.

26 March – APAM 2026 Info Session
PAC Australia has announced that APAM will be held on 23–27 February 2026, in Boorloo/Perth. There’s an info session for Australian artists, producers, and presenters. It will cover the event’s programming strategy and the ways to engage with APAM.

28 March – Hydro Tasmania Community Grants (TAS)
Up to $5,000 for projects that will make a real difference for people and communities in Tasmania.

31 March – NAB Foundation Community Grants
Up to $25,000 for local projects that help communities withstand and recover from natural disasters.

1 April – Creative Australia International Engagement Fund
Between $5,000 to $30,000 for artists to undertake reciprocal exchange projects with confirmed international partners. This includes creative collaboration and development; cultural exchange and knowledge sharing; labs and practice-exchange models.

14 April – are-able Foundation Grants
Up to $5,000 for projects that directly benefit people experiencing disability or disadvantage. They must align with are-able’s values of integrity, respect, empathy and innovation.

10 May – Qantas Regional Grants
Project funding for individuals, groups or not-for-profit orgs to contribute positively to their regional community. They must demonstrate a measurable socioeconomic impact.

Rebus Theatre’s Stages of Empathy Training (ACT, NSW, VIC)
Rebus Theatre is offering free inclusion training for orgs and community groups. Become more accessible for autistic people, and people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities.

THRIVE Sydney
Creative Plus Business has launched a new program of events and online resources. For the professional development and wellbeing of Sydney’s artists and creative community.

ActNow Theatre Let’s Do Better Sofa Sessions
A recorded series of conversations with First Nations, POC and LGBTQIA+ communities. Better understand what may be needed to create safe, intersectional spaces.


VICTORIAN STUFF

Creative Victoria Audience Atlas Free Consultations
As part of the launch of Audience Atlas, Creative Victoria is offering arts orgs free consultation with MHM, the global strategy and insight consultancy behind the report. This could be a one-to-one call or a full workshop.

10 March – Geelong Arts Centre Creative Engine Launchpad
For artists to develop and present their new works in development in the Open House Theatre in 2025. Artists receive $1,000, studio space, mentorship, technical support, and 100% box office sales.

12 March – Lucy Guerin Inc x Dancehouse Out of Bounds EOIs
For dance artists to share excerpts of up to 10 minutes with peers. These can be from recent choreographic investigations, experiments, or works-in-progress.

21 March – State Library Victoria Kerri Hall Fellowship for Performing Arts
$15,000 along with desk space and access to collections. For creatives, artists, and writers from regional Victoria in theatre and performing arts. Research can focus on any topic.

23 March – Sundays with Wit: Unlocking Shakespeare with Tim Paige
Participants choose a Shakespearean monologue or scene to prepare before the workshop. $30.

13 April – Regional Arts Victoria Project Grants
Up to $30,000 for projects that benefit regional or remote artists, audiences and communities.


CYPA STUFF (Children, Young People, and the Arts)

5 March – Blackbird Foundation Protostars
$1,000 for young people aged 18-25 to work on their passion projects

17 March – City of Melbourne’s ArtPlay New Ideas Lab
Up to $20,000 and venue/development space for creative projects where children and/or families will be the co-creators of the work.

20 March – PYT Fairfield SITCOM II Script Submissions
Looking for writers to create a 5-minute sitcom script as part of NSW Youth Week 2025. Submissions from emerging Western Sydney writers aged 30 and under will be prioritised.

24 March – NIDA Jim Sharman Future Award
$50,000 and tailored NIDA support to turn a radical idea or project into reality. Open to artists aged 16–30.

6 April – Carclew Project and Development Grants for Individuals
Artists up to 26 years old can receive up to $10,000. For the development and/or presentation of work. Or for projects that help children and young people participate in the arts.

30 April – The FRRR ABC Heywire Youth Innovation Grant
$10,000 for communities across Australia to adopt, adapt and act on the ideas generated at the Heywire Regional Youth Summit. To address issues that matter to remote, rural and regional youth.


CAPT STUFF (Circus and Physical Theatre)

13 March – Performing Lines Free Workshop with Ruth Wikler (VIC)
Sharing your Work with the World: International Market Development Strategies for Contemporary Circus.  How do you build a bridge between what you are authentically creating and what presenters around the world are seeking? Led by Ruth Wikler, previously director of Montreal’s International Market for Contemporary Circus.

31 March – Gasworks Circus Showcase EOIs
A platform for circus performers to develop innovative acts for presentation. Ends with a live showcase on stage, featuring feedback from industry experts.

24–27 April – Adelaide Juggling Convention
Four days of workshops in juggling and spinning. Early bird passes available until 24 March for $160.

Congrats to Flipside!
Flipside Circus has won the prestigious Gold Matilda Award for 2024, which recognises a company’s standout contribution to the industry.

  • Pippin Remi is the new Executive Director at Women’s Circus.
  • Clare Mockler is the new Executive Director of Arts South Australia.
  • Gill Perkins, the Executive Director of Bell Shakespeare, will be stepping down in July, after 10 years in the role and more than 25 years of service to the company.
  • Dario Vacirca is the new Creative Programming Project Manager at Abbotsford Convent. Jessica Bram is their new Strategic Partnerships and Development Manager.
  • Caroline Bowditch joins Melbourne Fringe in the newly created position of Cultural Equity Consultant, while Milly Cooper steps into the newly created role of Access Fringe Program Manager.
  • Jessica Rogerson has stepped down as Company Manager at Co3. Jessica is now a Producer at Spare Parts Puppet Theatre.
  • Helen Hillman has stepped down as Senior Producer at Queensland Theatre.
  • Monique Hapgood has been appointed as Executive Director at ActNow Theatre.
  • Hayden Tonazzi has been appointed the new Artistic Director and CEO at Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP).
