VPAF: Save the Date! 
Our Victorian Performing Arts Forum (VPAF) returns this year on Friday, 29 May. This is a chance for Victorian orgs and independents to reconnect with one another and with TNA. More details coming soon.  

TNA’s Salary Survey Report
A reminder that TNA’s Salary Survey Report for 2025 is now available. The Report benchmarks salaries and benefits across a range of arts management roles in the s2m sector. Boards and leadership can use figures for salary setting, and managers can negotiate benefits and a pay rise! Available to TNA members or buy the full report for $360.

Perth and Brisbane 2025 Dance Sector Gathering Summary Reports
Last year, TNA ran two gatherings in Perth and Brisbane with Dance Makers Collective and GUTS Dance. The gatherings were part of a series that aimed to address challenges the local independent dance sector. Summary reports for the Perth and Brisbane Dance Sector Gatherings are now available.

List yourself if you produce for independent artists, independent collectives and independent companies. This database is not for producers who want to work exclusively for an organisation or venue.


NATIONAL STUFF

6 March – Busan International Comedy Festival: Comedy Street Performers 2026
For street artists to present at the upcoming festival in August in South Korea. Artists receive round trip international flights, accommodation, and 100% of ‘tip box’ earnings. The artist who wins the ‘Best Street Performer’ receives $1,000 USD.

8 March – The Tasmanian Live Performance Exchange (TLPX) Sector Survey (TAS) 
TLPX is developing a 10-year plan for Tasmania’s theatre and live performance sector. They are beginning with an industry-wide consultation.

8 March – Studio1 Expanding Inner Spaces: Physical Actor Training (QLD) 
Workshop for performers on the capacities of breath, voice, and body. Cost: $33.

10 March – Canberra Youth Theatre Writers Studio 
An online program for emerging playwrights. Develop craft and community over eight monthly sessions. Cost: $400 for members. Canberra Youth Theatre offers flexible payment plans.

10 March – The Parrot Ox Producers Program
For self-producing artists and orgs to take existing work to the next level. This could mean getting work to new venues, new markets, or major festivals. Selected works receive 16 weeks of producing expertise from The Parrot Ox, including strategy and execution plans, budget creation and cashflow planning, negotiation strategy, and more.

12 March – 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art and Brand X High Tides Response Residency (NSW) 
5-day residency for a Pasifika Sydney-based artist working in sound, music, performance, club or drag acts. The live outcome will be presented as part of 4A LIVE: Ball. The artist receives $1,000 and a $500 stipend for materials/travel.

12 March – The Ian Potter Foundation Arts Program
Funding for orgs that grow sector development. Or for orgs that host artists in professional development and/or leadership opportunities.

13 March – Arts Centre Melbourne Frank Van Straten Fellowship 2026
Up to $15,000 for a Fellow to undertake research using the Australian Performing Arts Collection.

15 March – Legs On The Wall x Studio1 Cross-State Residency Exchange (NSW & QLD)
For a Sydney-based physical theatre artist to undertake two-week residency. Spend one week at Legs On The Wall and one week at Studio1 in Brisbane, with opportunities for showings in both states. The artist receives $1,500, accommodation, per diems, and travel support. EOIs for Brisbane artists will open soon.

16 March – Junction Arts Festival Artist EOIs (TAS)
For artists to join the Junction Arts Festival 2026 program in Launceston.

16 March – Studio1 In-Studio Residencies 2026 EOIs 
For dance and physical theatre artists outside metro Brisbane and interstate. Artists receive $6,000, two-week residency and professional support. The residency focuses on exploration and process. Studio1 have also announced their suite of programs for the rest of the year.

16 March – Artsbridge (TAS)
Funding for TAS artists and groups to travel for arts opportunities. Or for orgs to bring professionals to TAS for arts activities.

16 March – 2026 QBE Foundation Local Grants
$50,000 for orgs with projects that address climate change and climate resilience. Or for projects that increase access to opportunities for marginalised communities. Initiatives may address reconciliation, LGTBIQ+ inclusion and gender equality.

16–20 March – ICDA x AON: Not-for-Profit Insurance Week
A series of free webinars on insurance and risk-management for not-for-profits. Webinars on prize indemnity insurance and fundraising, workplace risk and safety, cyber-crime, cover for boards, and health-checking policy. All free!

16 March – Access Ideas and Insights: First Nations Storytelling 
Free panel on First Nations storytelling hosted by Accessible Arts. With Aretha Brown, Akala Newman, and Daniel McDonald. In-person at the Bangarra Dance Theatre and online.

17 March – Creative Australia International Engagement Fund
Between $5,000 to $30,000 for reciprocal international exchange activities. Applicants should have confirmed international partners.

17 March – Creative Australia Leadership Scholarships
Various scholarship programs for emerging leaders, established leaders, emerging regional leaders, climate leadership, and systems thinking. The scholarship covers the cost of the course.

17 March – Festivals Australia Round 22 
Funding arts projects that invite community participation and audience engagement in regional and remote Australia. Projects should be delivered as part of a festival, or a significant one-off community celebration.

20 March – Her Path to Play 2025-26 Program (TAS)
Up to $20,000 for TAS orgs who deliver sport/active recreation activities. Deliver programs that cater for the needs of women and girls. Increase opportunities for participation, including for specific groups who may experience additional barriers to participation.

22 March – Gdańsk Dance Festival Solo Dance Contest 2026
For dancers to participate in the international competition for contemporary dance solo in Poland. Selected artists receive up to $180 EUR travel and accommodation and meals. Winning dancers receive a financial prize. There is a prize pool of $5,500 EUR.  

22 March – 2026 NAIDOC Grants Program (NSW)
Up to $5,000 for community orgs who deliver services to Aboriginal communities in NSW. Run events and activities as part of NAIDOC week.

23 March – Australian Plays Transform Max Afford Playwrights’ Award 
For playwrights aged between 18–40 with a full length, unproduced play. The winning playwright receives $33,000, split between a $15,500 cash prize and supported play development, produced by APT.

24 March – ORBIT 2026 EOIs
The pilot program aims to address the absence of a sustainable touring model for small-to-medium independent dance works. ORBIT is now looking to present and tour polished, tour-ready works

26 March – Performing Lines TAS Sector Day (TAS)
Register for the annual gathering for the state’s performing arts sector

27 March – ISPA 2026 Singapore Congress: Early Bird Registrations
The International Society for the Performing Arts Congress is happening in Singapore on 19–22 May. Early bird registrations close later this month.

27 March – Performance Space Experimental Performance Fellowship 2026 (NSW)
$30,000 for NSW-based performing artists and groups/collectives. Undertake a year-long, self-directed program of research and development.

30 March – Arts on Tour SALON EOIs (NSW & ACT)
For NSW/ACT artists and producers to pitch their work at Arts on Tour’s annual networking and showcase event. The Salon will be held in Sydney on 22 July.

30 March – Sydney Fringe Registrations
For artists to present at this year’s Sydney Fringe, on 1–30 September. Tiered registration fee starting from $210.

31 March – Create NSW Western Sydney First Nations Program (NSW)
$10,000 to $100,000 for First Nations artists, creatives, and organisations in Western Sydney. Artists and orgs can use funding to develop new skills, strengthen their operations, audiences, partnerships, and more.

31 March – Copyright Agency Annual Writers Distribution
For writers to receive payments for works that have been copied and shared, or are available to be copied and shared. Writers could include contributors to newspapers, magazines, journals, anthologies and collected works. Register your publication by the end of the month.

9 April – FunHaus Factory From Gosford With Love (NSW)
Professional development program for Central Coast regional performers to present tour-ready work. Artists receive full production and marketing support to prepare for national touring.

13 April – Pride Foundation Australia Small Grants
Up to $1,000 for projects that help, involve and benefit LGBTQIA+ people. This round focuses on transgender, non-binary and gender diverse people and communities.

22 April–6 May – ICDA’s Community Sector CEOs Online Course
The Institute of Community Directors Australia is running a three-session program for CEOs. It covers the CEO’s role in strategy and governance, people and performance, and innovation and sustainability. Cost: $595 for non-members.

30 April – Churchill Fellowship
For Australians to travel overseas. They must learn about a topic or issue that they are passionate about that will benefit their community.

13 May – Australia-Korea Foundation Grants
Between $50,000 and $150,000 for projects that strengthen the Australia-Korea relationship. Increase public awareness of Australia in Korea, and of Korea in Australia and develop partnerships. Key priority areas are arts, culture, sport, and youth engagement.

Service and Creative Skills Australia: Career Journey Mapping EOIs
SaCSA is addressing ongoing workforce shortages in the arts. They are seeking people who are currently working/have recently worked in the arts and creative industries. They want to better understand how careers begin and progress, barriers to retention, and more. Participation will include a one-on-one online interview and/or a workshop with peers.

The Balnaves Foundation EOIs
Funding for orgs that create a better Australia through education and the arts. There is a focus on young people, the disadvantaged, and Indigenous Australia. There are no closing dates or budget constraints.

RMIT’s Museum Digital Social Futures Toolkit
A collection of resources for larger museums/galleries and presenting orgs. There are also free tools for gathering and analysing audience experience insights. Tools are still in development, and the RMIT team are open to feedback from the sector.

Free Atlassian Workplace Apps for Not-For-Profits
Atlassian is offering their workplace apps for free for not-for-profits. This includes tools like Loom, Jira and Confluence.


VICTORIAN STUFF

11 March – Melbourne Fringe Show Starter Commissions
Fringe is accepting pitches for new work seeking $10,000 in funding to present at this year’s Festival. This new pitch-driven EOI aims to connect high-quality work with the right donors to fund it. Fringe have identified specific areas of interest that their funders are looking to support.

15 March – Speak Percussion x Chamber Made Test Flight EOIs
For artists working at the intersections of music and contemporary performance to share work at an early stage of development. Artists receive a $500 artist fee and feedback from industry and peers.

19 March – The Round x Arts Access Victoria ‘Neurospicy’ 
A live podcast exploring accessibility in the arts, with Q&A at the end. Cost: $25.

21 March – Rawcus FORGE Workshop
Free participatory workshop with members of the Rawcus ensemble. Learn about their devising practices and processes. Explore themes from the company’s current show in rehearsals.

22 March – The Substation Resident Program EOIs
For independent artists and companies to join Substation’s community of Artist Residents. There are two studios available, weekly rent ranges from $80 to $230. Current Artist Residents include Australian Art Orchestra, Western Edge, and Rawcus.

27 March – MPavilion Creative Companions Mentorship EOIs
For early-career arts practitioners to gain industry insight through online mentoring/coaching sessions.

30 March – Joan Kirner Emerging Leaders Program 2026
For Victorian women and gender diverse people aged 22–40. Learn practical skills and strategies to advance your leadership journey. The program is fully funded.

31 March – LGBTIQA+ Organisational Development Program
Up to $20,000 or $40,000 to support Victorian LGBTIQA+ organisations and groups. Build your capacity and strengthen your long-term viability. There is a general information session on 12 March, and an information session on the 11 March for those applying with an auspice.

7 April – The Victorian Actors’ Benevolent Trust Community Survey
The VABT has been supporting performers, creatives and crew since 1958. They have a very short survey to understand ways they can improve their services to the sector. The survey takes less than five minutes. 

7 April – State Library Victoria Fellowships
Creative Fellowships support mid-career/established creative practitioners to interpret the Library’s collections through artistic practice. Fellows receive $15,000, dedicated space for 12 months, and access to a liaison librarian.

15 April – Bowery Theatre Residencies 2026-27
For artists to make and present new work at the Bowery Theatre. Up to $10,000 for mid-career or established artists and up to $5,000 for young or emerging artists. Artists receive 50/50 box office split, technical and front of house support.


CYPA STUFF (Children, Young People and the Arts)

Child Safeguarding Resources for Orgs (QLD)
Queensland’s new child safeguarding law introducing Child Safe Standards came into effect from October last year. There are resources for orgs that will help them embed the Child Safe Standards and the Universal Principle into organisational policies, so they can meet their obligations under the Act.

15 March – Utp roots EOIs (NSW)
Roots is a creative hang out space for Palestinian youth and their kin. Connect and build skills across art forms at monthly workshops. Facilitated by guest artists.

18 March – Corrugated Iron Youth Arts Company in Residence (NT)
Space and mentorship for early career artists in collectives aged 16–30. Develop your artistic skills and projects. Artists can access Corrugated Iron’s performance spaces, circus venue, facilities and equipment.

24 March – Barking Gecko Tony Chong Creative Fellowship (WA)
For an emerging/mid-career Asian artist in WA. Research and grow your practice, with a focus on creating work for children, young people, and families. Over 12 months, receive $40,000, a residency at Barking Gecko, dramaturgical and mentorship support, and more.

27 March – Crossroad Arts SCOPE 2026 (Regional QLD)
Three-day theatre intensive in visual storytelling. For young d/Deaf people in regional QLD. Scholarships of up to $2,000 to contribute towards travel and accommodation.

28 March – ArtPlay x House of Muchness: By Kids for Kids Collective Audition (VIC)
Group audition for 10–12-year-olds interested in participating in work created by By Kids for Kids Collective. The Collective is a group of young performers who have designed an arts experience for other children. Participants meet five times across Term 2 and perform a season at ArtPlay.

1 May – 22nd ASSITEJ World Congress Call for Performances
For orgs to present work at the ASSITEJ World Congress and Performing Arts Festival 2027 in Korea. Artists receive a performance fee to be determined after selection, accommodation and meals, and ground transport.

6 July – Canberra Youth Theatre Emerging Playwright Commission
$17,700 commission for an emerging playwright to create a new full-length work. The winner receives dramaturgical support and creative development. This culminates in a staged reading of the work. Works must be written to be performed by actors aged from 7–25.

For riggers to list themselves for potential employment. For artists, companies, and venues to find qualified and experienced CaPT riggers.

29 March – Women’s Circus Open Day 2026 (VIC)
Women’s Circus has announced their Open Day, a free, family-friendly event, with circus workshops for all ages.

NICA’s Artist Residency Program 2026 EOIs
NICA is offering free training space for independent circus artists and groups to develop new works. Successful artists receive two weeks’ access to half of the Sidney Myer space. There are six time periods, with the first one starting from July.

Occupational Therapy Honours Students’ Child Development and Circus Survey 
Honours Students at Adelaide Uni have partnered with Cirkidz to explore the benefits of circus for child development. They have two short surveys to understand and promote the developmental benefits of circus. One is for youth circus trainersone is for parents and caregivers.
