TNA’s Submission on the NSW Government’s Cultural Tax Reform

Earlier this year, the NSW Government was welcoming input on opportunities for tax reforms that support the arts and creative industries. This was one of TNA’s recommendations to government in the lead-up to the Federal Election. TNA made a submission, commending the NSW Government for initiating an enquiry into the impacts of tax policy reform on the arts and cultural sectors.

In our submission, TNA advocated for a more favourable tax environment that eases the burden on sole traders and small-to-medium enterprises. TNA has recommended:

Introducing tax exemption for income earned from arts grants and fellowships
Commission a review to extend PBI status to a broader range of arts and cultural organisations

There are also many other submissions from across the sector.
