TNA’s Submission to the Tasmanian Government’s 2026-2027 Pre-Budget Consultation

TNA has made a submission to the Tasmanian Government’s 2026-2027 Pre-Budget Consultation. This was a chance to contribute, on behalf of our Tasmanian members and the Tasmanian arts community, to the State’s budget priorities and policies.

In our submission, TNA advocated for the following measures for arts and culture in the 2026-2027 State budget:

  1. No cuts to Arts Industry Development funding.
  2. Increased investment in Arts Grants providing the equivalent of indexation on “organisations” funding since 2021-2022 of $1.3m.
  3. Indexation for Arts Grants in future years,
  4. Renewed investment for the Tasmanian Strategic Touring Fund of $220,000 per annum.
  5. A fund to respond to recommendations from the Tasmanian Live Performance Exchange consultancy in future years.
