Victorian Theatre Forum 2014 – ‘Power Play’

TNV Members are invited to join us for a curated program of rigorous discussion and industry updates to connect and empower the theatre sector. Proudly presented by Theatre Network Victoria in association with Melbourne Theatre Company. Now in its fifth year, the 2014 Victorian Theatre Forum is a key event for the professional theatre sector.

PROGRAM
This year’s forum will be more tightly curated (in response to your feedback), with a panel discussion, facilitated breakout sessions, and brief industry updates. As always, delegates are encouraged to stay for a drink to continue the conversations sparked by an afternoon of invigorating discussion.

SECTOR BRIEFINGS
Lyn Wallis (Australia Council for the Arts) – Impact of the new strategic plan. David Williams (Australian Theatre Forum Curator) – ATF 2015: ‘Making It’. Suzanne Daley (Live Performance Australia) – Greener Live Performances.

INDUSTRY PANEL
“Is theatre political in 2014?”
Join us as we explore how, when and if, theatre is political in 2014. Our exciting line up of speakers will contemplate the implications, responsibilities and challenges of making art that’s culturally relevant and provocative to a broad and diverse audience. Chair: Emily Sexton, Panel: Ben Eltham (Arts Commentator), Bindi Cole (Visual Artist), Bruce Gladwin (Back to Back Theatre) and Kate Just (Visual Artist).

BREAK OUT SESSIONS
The industry panel will be followed by curated break out sessions with guest facilitators including Simon Abrahams, Gorkem Acaroglu, Esther Anatolitis, Sarah Austin, Felix Ching Ching Ho, Maude Davey, Emma J Hawkins, Veronica Pardo, Emma Valente, Lyn Wallis, David Williams and Mark Wilson.
