17 Sep – Flying Trapeze Coaching Course – Byron Bay
This course is hosted by Circus Arts Byron Bay and consists of two stages. Stage 1 runs from 17 – 20 Sep and is for those taking first steps towards coaching flying trapeze. Stage 2 runs from 21 – 23 Sep and is for those signing off as a coach. Places are limited. Read more here.
15 Oct – TNA’s CaPT Sector Gathering & Grant Writing Workshop
Join TNA and the Sidesault artists at the Circus and Physical Theatre sector gathering. Catch up on national updates, discuss sector issues and network with your peers. 3.30 – 5.30pm, Mon 15 Oct at The Melba Spiegeltent, Circus Oz, Collingwood VIC. Free event, book here. | TNA and Auspicious Arts Projects will also host a Grant Writing Workshop before the sector gathering: 1pm – 3pm, Mon 15 Oct in the Circus Oz Studio space. Tickets are $10 and contribute to an artist bursary.
25 Nov – 4th Australian Circus Festival dates announced for 2019
The 2019 Australian Circus Festival will be held from 25 Nov – 1 Dec 2019 under the Hudson’s Circus big top in Brisbane, QLD. Entries are now open. Locals & Internationals can apply for the Community Circus, Pre-Professional competition division and “Cirqueability” (Sensory friendly show for artists with disabilities) here.
Mullum Circus Festival set for 2020
After much consideration, Spaghetti Circus has announced it will present the Mullum Circus Festival (MCF) in September 2020. With an extra year of planning, they will produce this well-loved, vital event in a more sustainable and vibrant way. Training Program will run from 28 Sep – 1 Oct 2020, with the Festival Weekend scheduled for 2 – 4 October 2020. More info and sign up here.
19 Jan – Karnidale – Circus Festival and Training Program in WA
Lunar presents Karnidale on 19 & 20 Jan 2019. The International training project and Lunar Circus Summer School will also be held from 7 – 11 Jan, and 13 – 17 Jan 2019. Join the Lunar mailing list to find out about Early Bird tickets on sale this September. More info here.
