Intermediate Rigging for Circus & Physical Theatre Workshop

TNA is holding a series of free intensives for Circus Riggers, as part of the Victorian Circus Rigger Training Program.

The Intermediate Rigging workshop covers more complex skills and concepts that go beyond construction industry training and are essential for safely rigging for performers. The facilitators are Geoff Dunstan, Beau Dudding and a guest rigger from NICA. This is perfect for riggers who are ticketed but are still building up their industry experience and circus-specific knowledge, covering topics such as:

  • Ropes and knots
  • Climbing gear
  • Tie off points
  • Tirfors
  • Motors and truss
  • Pulley blocks
  • Running circus lines
  • Emergency descent training
  • Slinging techniques
  • Rig checks
  • Performer awareness

Date: Monday 11 November, 9:30am–4:30pm
Venue: Rehearsal Room 2, 35B Johnston Street Collingwood
Who can register to attend: people with at least a Basic Rigging ticket, but with minimal experience rigging in circus.

This workshop is free, subsidised by TNA & Ruccis.
