TNV’s Submission: 2014 and 2015 Arts Budget Senate Inquiry

TNV welcomes the opportunity to submit to the Senate Inquiry into the impact of the 2014 and 2015 Commonwealth Budget decisions on the Arts.

This submission makes the following recommendations:

1. That $25 million per year in funding cuts be restored to the Australia Council of the Arts;

2. That an additional $21.25 million per year be added to the Australia Council for the Arts’ budget to reduce unfunded excellence;

3. That $20 million per year continues to be available for the National Program for Excellence in the Arts in addition to Australia Council funding, with its draft guidelines altered to accept applications from individual artists.

We will publish the submission when it is made public on the Parliamentary site.
