ANZSCO Review: Submission by TNA

The Australian Bureau of Statistics are reviewing ANZSCO, the list of occupations we have in Australia and New Zealand, and invited submissions, during a public consultation process. ANZSCO is used in the census and to measure and understand labour markets. Apart from some minor updates, the current list has not been updated since 2001, and so some newer occupations don’t exist on the list, and some existing ones are too broad and need disaggregating.

TNA put in significant work to develop a submission on behalf of the performing arts sector to ensure our workforce is accurately represented. Our submission recommended adding 39 new occupations, updating 10 existing occupations, and some structural changes to how occupations are grouped. TNA will stay involved throughout the consultation process over the next year.
