Reflections on Directors in TYA Exchange 2025
Last year, Luke Kerridge was selected as the Australian delegate for the Directors in TYA Exchange. In June, Luke attended the Exchange in Hamburg, and has reflected on his time there. ‘At the centre of the exchange were the voices of children. Each director brought a video from their home country featuring young people responding to a series of provocations, including the question, “What do you wish everyone in the world knew?”’ Read Luke’s full update

TNA STUFF

ASSITEJ Advisory Group Call Out
The ASSITEJ Advisory is a group that meet online 3-4 times per year to discuss and advise on issues relating to advocacy for Children, Young People, and the Arts in Australia. TNA is seeking people who feel they can contribute their ideas and energy to advocacy, knowledge and networking in the sector, and local and regional perspectives.

TNA Biennial Salary Survey 2025 – Open to Organisations
Our Salary Survey captures the salaries, benefits, professional development budgets, staff tenures and representation of small-to-medium arts organisations. It helps organisations with benchmarking and advocates for remuneration that is in line with other sectors. The report will be made available to TNA members later this year. Non-profit and for-profit arts organisations across Australia with salaried staff and with an annual turnover of $4m or less are encouraged to complete the survey. We want Children, Young People, and the Arts sector to be represented! Take the Salary Survey now.

NATIONAL STUFF

13 August – Next Gen Arts Regional Arts WA (WA)
Up to $5,000 for regional artists in regional WA to deliver arts activities for young people aged 12–18.

17 August – Sidney Myer Creative Fellowships
$200,000 unrestricted, tax-free grants for early mid-career artists, creatives or cultural leaders. The criteria for the fellowships are outstanding talent and exceptional courage.

17 Aug – PYT Fairfield Residency EOIs (NSW)
Week-long residency for an artist or group aged 18-28 in Western Sydney to develop or present work. PYT Fairfield provides $7,000, space, producing and mentoring support.

28 Aug – Creative WA Arts Fellowships for Young People (WA)
Fellowships of $26,000 for individuals aged 18-25 to grow their participation in the arts and develop pathways for a creative future.

8 Sept – Arts Tasmania Youth Arts Organisations Funding (TAS)
Up to $80,000 for TAS youth arts orgs to deliver activities that engage young people under 25 years old.

Utp Rising EOIs (NSW)
For Greater Western Sydney artists aged 17-25 to take part in Utp’s four-year program. Young artists will be mentored through workshops and excursions to local organisations. Participants receive $75 honorariums for each workshop they attend. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Creative Australia ‘Next Generation Now: Benefits of the Arts for Children and Young People’
The report summarises selected research and recommendations on children, young people and the arts, prepared by Dr Jennifer Andersen. The report summarises research on topics such as how children and young people value the art, building civic capacity and cultural citizenship, and more. 

INTERNATIONAL STUFF

11 Sept – FETEN 2026 Proposals
For productions aimed at children and families to present at the International Performing Arts Fair for children and families in Gijón, Spain in Feb 2026. Financial and technical support are arranged by agreement between the companies and FETEN.

On the Move Cultural Mobility Forum 2025 Resources 
An EU-funded forum that investigates international artistic and cultural mobility trends. In 2025, the forum focused on the pathways for young and emerging artists. There are recordings of the panel discussions and webinars available.
