26 June – Perth Dance Sector Gathering
Our upcoming Perth Dance Sector Gathering is hosted in partnership with Dance Makers Collective and GUTS Dance. This gathering will address recommendations in our Independent Dance Sector Report. It will be facilitated by Carl Sciberras and Frankie Snowdon. Register by June 19.

Our Circus and Physical Theatre Riggers Database is live! The database is for artists, companies, and venues to find CaPT riggers. Riggers can also list themselves for potential employment.

NATIONAL STUFF
5 June – Critical Conversations: Ethical Storytelling (NT)
Brown’s Mart, Corrugated Iron, Darwin Community Arts, Darwin Fringe Festival and Tracks Dance come together to discuss the ethics of storytelling, especially when creating with cultures other than your own.
6 June – APAX Registrations and Travel Bursaries
APAX is on 11–15 August in Garramilla/Darwin. Early bird registrations close in July. Costs start from $920. Bursaries are available for First Nations and Indigenous artists and producers, and for artists and producers from QLD, SA, WA, and the NT.
6 June – The Bupa Foundation Grants
Up to $10,000 for community initiatives that align with Bupa’s focus areas. Their two focus areas are: building mentally healthy and resilient communities and supporting a healthy planet for healthy people.
13 June – On the Move Cultural Mobility Webinar: The International Circulation of Indigenous Creatives (EU)
Panel discussion on the cultural exchanges and collaborations between Indigenous artists and their international counterparts. 7pm AEST.
16 June – State Theatre Company SA SPARK Applications
For independent theatre-makers to develop and present work in the Main Theatre at the Adelaide College of the Arts. Participants receive artistic support, in-kind venue, technical and production support, and 100% of box office income.
17 June – The Ian Potter Cultural Trust Emerging Artist Grants
Up to $15,000 for emerging and early-career artists to take up professional development opportunities, usually overseas.
18 June – Arts on Tour SALON 2025 (NSW/ACT)
Arts on Tour’s annual industry event for NSW/ACT makers and presenters is in Sydney this year. There will be short pitches, company updates, panel sessions, and networking. Waged workers: $95. Unwaged artists: $19.
18 June – Creative Conversations: Mental Wellbeing & The Arts in Queensland
Free panel discussion on mental wellbeing in the arts. Speakers are Sarah Harvey, Sarah Farnsworth, Bobbi-Lea Dionysius, and Queensland Theatre’s Criena Gehrke.
22 June – Helpmann Academy Development Grant 2025 (SA)
Up to $3,000 to support emerging creatives in SA universities to kickstart new projects.
23 June – Ausdance ACT x The Australian Ballet Masterclass (ACT)
Special masterclass for independent dance artists with an intermediate/advanced level. Taught by a world class repetiteur and former professional dancer from The Australian Ballet. It will finish with a Q&A. Cost: $55. There are bursaries available for those experiencing financial hardship.
23–28 June – The National Play Summit: National Conversations, Local Activations
Australian Plays Transform, the National Theatre of Parramatta and La Mama have announced a partnership for The National Play Summit 2025. They will each be hosting local events for the national industry gathering.
25 June – Brand X Panel: ‘Creative and Innovative Use of Accessibility in the Arts’
Online panel on accessibility and creativity from the perspective of the disabled artist, the art business professional and the access provider. Cost: $25.
26 June – Community Led Climate Solutions Grants
Funding for not-for-profit orgs across remote, rural and regional Australia to drive local climate solutions. Initiatives must aim to reduce emissions through education, engagement and action.
26 June – 2025 South Australian Presenters Association Showcase (SA)
SAPA’s Annual Showcase is happening this month, connecting performers directly with presenters. Registrations for non-members cost $130.
1 July – CreateSA Grants
Up to $15,000 for artists and arts workers to undertake professional development. Up to $25,000 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, groups, and orgs to support the creative development, production and presentation of new work. Artists and groups can also apply for funding for the development, production and presentation of new works.
7 July – SPACED’s ‘Know Thy Neighbour #4: Gestures’ EOIs (WA)
Residency for Perth artists to develop socially-engaged creative outcomes and temporary public art projects. Successful artists receive a $6,000 artist fee and a $10,000 project budget. EOIs are also open for community orgs to host artists-in-residence. There is an online info session on 11 June.
8 July – Creative Australia First Nations Multi-Year Project Fund
$150,00 over 3 years to support First Nations communities, elders and established artists to pass on artistic and cultural knowledge to younger generations.
1 Nov – Workspacebrussels Performing Arts Residency (Belgium)
Up to three-week residency in Brussels to support research, experimentation and creation. Accommodation is provided. There is an honorarium of 750 EUR for travel and project expenses.
Cypher Culture National Street Dance Survey
Fill out this survey to help advocate for Street Dance. The survey will capture data, stories and issues. Cypher Culture wants to improve funding, support and pathways for the Street Dance community.
Adelaide Fringe Early Career Producer Mentorship – Mentor EOIs
Adelaide Fringe seeks EOIs from experienced producers who want to mentor emerging and mid-career producers. There is up to $2,500 to cover mentorship costs for both mentor and mentee.
Live Performance Australia – Increased Processing Time for 408 Visa Applications
LPA has advised their members that there has been a significant increase to the 408 Visa processing times. Once a 408 Visa application is submitted to the Department of Home Affairs, the current timelines are 24 days for 50% applications, and 56 days for 90% applications.
Support Act – Wellbeing Helpline Evaluation Findings
Support Act have released their evaluation findings on the Wellbeing Helpline. The Helpline was found to have high levels of accessibility, efficiency and quality. The evaluation also made recommendations as to how the service could be more accessible to the broader arts community. Support Act will be implementing all recommendations.

Dance masterclass during RISING Festival. Led by the London-based dance theatre company, with a focus on physical exercises, groove, and improvisation. Cost: $25.
9 June – Merri-bek Festivals Development Program
Up to $10,000 for new performance, live art, or participatory work. The work must premiere at a Council-presented festival or event.
9 June – Blindside x Next Wave Emerging Curator Mentorship 2025
Professional development opportunity for an emerging curator to curate a performance program for three performance-based artists. The curator receives a fee, mentorship with Next Wave’s CEO, Elyse Goldfinch, budget support, technical assistance, and more.
10 June – City of Port Philip Festivals and Events Grants
Up to $25,000 for orgs to deliver festivals and events in the City of Port Philip.
12 June – LGI Make a Start Residency 2025 EOIs
Offers up to 2-week in-studio residencies at WXYZ studios for choreographers and dance artists. For new or early-stage developments and creative experiments.
13 June – Geelong Arts Centre Associate Artist Program
For two associate artists to undertake a self-directed program of research and development for a new work over 12 months. Artists receive $25,000, a $10,000 project budget, and $4,500 towards travel and accommodation.
18 June – Darebin City Council’s Intercultural Centre Nights
Join Darebin’s diverse communities for conversation and light refreshments. Free to attend.
18 June – Aboriginal Creative Studio Space 2025
Creative Spaces is offering a free studio space for 12 months at Boyd Studios. For Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander artists.
23 June – Chamber Made x The Substation Voltage EOIs
For a mid-career/established independent artist to have their work produced by Chamber Made and co-presented with The Substation in September 2026. For an artist working at the intersection of contemporary performance, sound and music.
29 June – Darebin Arts Speakeasy’s 2026 Applications
Present performance-based works at Darebin Arts Centre or Northcote Town Hall. Presentations receive a $12,000-$20,000 fee, percentage of box office, in-kind space and technical support. There is an in-person info session on 17 June.
10 July – The Betty Amsden Fellowship
Up to $100,000 for an outstanding sector professional to develop new thinking and champion best practice. The focus for 2026 is thought leadership in performing arts management.
CYPA STUFF (Children, Young People, and the Arts)
5 June – Ensemble Theatre Connections x Orana Arts (Regional NSW)
Development program for young creatives aged 16–24 interested in performing arts. Access free workshops, mentorship, live shows, and a Sydney masterclass.
16 June – Blackbird Protostars Grants
Up to $1,000 for young people aged 18-25 to work on their passion projects.
20 July – Carclew Fellowships 2026
Up to $10,000 to support young artists and arts workers to undertake creative and professional development. Applicants must be 26 years and under.
PYT Fairfield On-Demand Workshops
A range of on-demand, creative workshops for students and teachers. Topics include ‘Writing Long Form Work’, ‘Directing for Stage and Screen’, ‘Decolonising Arts Practice’, ‘Movement for the Stage’ and more. Cost: $499 but free for high schools in Fairfield and South-West Sydney.

South Australian Circus Centre seeks trainers for UFFO Trutnov (Czech Republic)
South Australian Circus Centre is assisting UFFO Trutnov to engage Australian-trained contemporary circus arts trainers. They are looking for trainers to teach for six months in 2026, at Czech Republic’s newest circus school for young people.
5–12 July – Aerial Teacher Training Courses (QLD)
Aerial Wisdom is offering intensives in Aerial Silks, Aerial Hoop, Trapeze and Aerial Hammock. Cost: $350.
Flipside Circus’ Waterways (QLD)
A First Nations-led circus project with Flipside trainer and producer, Lara Croydon. It aims to create lasting connections between circus and First Nations communities. Flipside is offering free weekly mob workshops. There are also other ways to get involved.
