AON Insurance update 
TNA is finalising negotiations with AON for an insurance package specifically tailored to meet the needs of the CaPT sector. Details to be released in 2019.

2019 TNA Membership
We invite you to join the national TNA network as a financial member and support our work strengthening the performing arts sector. View the current member listing here. Membership fees start from just $33 for individuals. Valid for 12 months from sign-up date.

NATIONAL

Circus & Beyond: Arts Workers Forum in Sydney, Jan 2019
These important national events are scheduled for 13 – 15 January 2019, as part of Sydney Festival. More info here.

28 Dec – ‘Leg Up’ Artist Residency with Legs on the Wall, Sydney NSW
Leg Up is a professional development opportunity with the potential of future work with Legs on the Wall. The program will be made up of a small group of artists and will run over a 12-month term, starting Jan 2019. Please note this is an unpaid opportunity. EOIs close 18 Dec 2018. More info here.

Sydney Festival launches Disability Programming Initiative
Designed to increase the number of artists with disability creating work for festivals, this initiative, in partnership with Accessible Arts, introduces an accessible and inclusive pitching process. Artists can submit via print, audio, video or in person by 31 March 2019. More info here. 

New in QLD: Curious Arts Festival, 15 – 18 Mar 2019
A vibrant program of ideas, music, circus, comedy, dance, workshops and more, featuring a mix of invited artists working alongside Toowoomba-based creatives, organisations and venues. More info here.

Western Australian Circus Festival, 19 – 20 Jan 2019
Hosted by Lunar Circus, join over 100 Australian and International artists for 2 weeks of training and networking followed by a 2 day public festival set in the south west of Australia on a purpose built circus site in the Margaret River region. More info here.

VICTORIA

22 Jan – Apply now for Showcase Victoria 2019
VAPAC and Regional Arts Victoria have announced that Showcase Victoria 2019 will take place at Melbourne’s Karralyka Centre from 13 – 15 May 2019. Applications close 22 Jan 2019.

Jan 6 – Women’s Circus – Apply now for 2019 Artist Residencies and Production Mentorships
Opportunities for women identifying artists working in circus/performance/physical theatre: ‘A Room of One’s Own’ residency offers 2-weeks access to the Drill Hall in West Footscray to explore and rehearse your work. ‘Still I Rise’ supports the development of a new work in the West as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival. Applications close midnight, 6 Jan 2019. More info here.

Jan 19 – Australian Partner Acrobatic Convention (APAC) and Spin Circus Festival 
APAC is a convention held along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria and brings together instructors from Circus, Dance, Acroyoga and more. Camping or dormitory accommodation available.
11 – 16 Jan 2019 in Wensleydale Victoria | Spin Circus Festival runs from 17 – 21 Jan in the same location.

INTERNATIONAL

Serious Circus Symposium, 15 – 16 Feb 2019 in London
Two-day Symposium and one-night public show gathers those who use contemporary circus performance to drive positive change. Welcoming proposals from speakers and artists involved in radical action with circus. Note: Live linking and virtual conferencing will enable international input. More info here.

15 Jan – Register for VIVAFest 2019, Las Vegas USA
With an ever growing population of practicing circus enthusiasts, the VIVAFest seeks to invigorate our unique art form by offering a venue for friendly competition, workshops, seminars, and the opportunity to interact with circus industry professionals. Expect a lively and rewarding environment where newcomers can display their talents and learn what it takes to succeed at this unique art form. 17 – 21 April, early registrations close 15 Jan 2019. More info here.

Cirku l’art – Slovakia, 25 – 27 May 2019
Cirku l’art is a circus and street art festival showcasing international acts and productions within the genre of contemporary circus. 25 – 27 May 2019 in Stupava, Slovakia. More info here.
