TNA is refreshing our CaPT Advisory Group for 2026-27. The Advisory Group shares information between TNA and the CaPT sector. Contribute your sector knowledge, networking, and ideas for advocacy. Unsalaried independents are paid an annual honorarium.

14 August & 21 August – TNA Survey and Consultation on the Impact of AI in the Performing Arts
TNA will be making a submission to the Parliamentary Inquiry into AI and Data Centres. Our sector needs to engage. Performance-making, arts participation and live performance sits at the frontline of questions AI technologies raise. If you have direct experience on how AI or data centres have affected you or your communities, please fill in this survey. There are three simple questions, it will take ten minutes. Help shape our submission! On Friday, 21 August at 2pm AEST, we’ll also be holding a conversation online to talk through these issues together. Please join us on Zoom!

7 August – Regional Arts Australia Practice in Community
Up to $160,000 over two years for regional artists working in Community Arts and Cultural Development.

9 August – Studio1 Pro Dance Workshop w/ Lucy Guerin
Dance workshop for professional practitioners on developing dance and choreography. Cost: $35.

10 August – Adelaide Fringe 2027 Fund
Present shows at Adelaide Fringe 2027. $10,000 and $20,000 for SA artists with works-in-progress or world premiere shows. Up to $30,000 to tour work to regional SA during Fringe.

10 August – Access Ideas and Insights: Co-Design in Practice
Free panel on co-designing as a creative process. Guest speakers include Felicity Nicol from Milk Crate Theatre, MCed by Jess Olivieri from Utp.

11 August – 2026 Census Guidance from Creative Australia
Creative workers can reflect their occupation in the upcoming Census. Updates to occupation classifications mean that more creative jobs are counted in the Census data. TNA and other peak bodies have successfully advocated for the inclusion of Circus Performer or Trainer, Live Performance Director, Live Performance Designer and Production Manager.

12 August – NSW Seniors Festival Grant 2027
Up to $10,000 for community events that encourage seniors in NSW to learn, remain active, be healthy and connected.

12 August – K3 Tanzplan Hamburg Residency
Eight-month residencies in Hamburg for emerging/mid-career choreographers. Develop a full-length piece to present in Hamburg. Includes a monthly scholarship for living expenses, accommodation, travel, access to studios, and a production budget.

12 August – British Council’s Connections Through Culture 2026
Grants between £5,000 and £15,000 for artistic collaboration between UK-based partners, and arts orgs and artists in Australia. Grants can be used for co-creation, residencies, exchanges, and more.  

13 August – Sydney Festival 2027 Festival Commons EOIs (NSW)
Ten-day lab for IBPoC community leaders from Greater Sydney and the Asia Pacific. Includes masterclasses, gatherings, and peer exchange during Sydney Festival. Participants are paid $2,400. International delegates receive travel, accommodation, and per diems.

13 August – Creative Projects for Organisations and Individuals Grants (WA)
$5,000–$80,000 for artists and organisations to deliver a project or program of activity.

14 August – Creative Climate Green Team EOI
For experienced arts producers and production workers working in climate action. Attend a three-day retreat in Seymour, Victoria. Gain additional resources and connections on climate action. Honorarium, travel and accommodation provided.

14 August – Horizon Power Community Partnerships (Regional WA)
Up to $50,000 for projects that support regional WA communities.
Initiatives should build community participation, capability and resilience.

16 August – Kenneth Myer Innovation Fellowships
$180,000 for fellows to focus on existing projects. Initiatives should align with themes of inclusion and equality, sustainability and climate change, or human, civil, and legal rights.

17 August – Regional Arts Fund Project Grants
Up to $30,000 for projects that benefit regional or remote artists, arts workers, audiences and communities.

17 August – PACT Lab: Process, Play, Experiment EOIs
Two-week intensive in Sydney for emerging artists. Explore performance-making tools and practices. Participants are paid $1,000. There is a small travel bursary for artists from interstate.

18 August – Adelaide Fringe Residencies (SA)
Two-week residency for an artist and their mentor at Potter’s Oasis. Accommodation, studio access, mentoring, and $2,000 provided. Tandanya has a $6,000 residency for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artist. Present work with a four-week rehearsal space, and 100% box office income.

18 August – FRRR In a Good Place Grants
Up to $20,000 to support mental health projects in remote and regional communities. There is a stream focusing on community wellbeing.

19 August – ACT Event Fund 2027 (ACT)
Up to $10,000 for community events that encourage local participation and connection. $30,000 available for organisers to grow and enhance events.

19 August – The Rodney Seaborn Playwrights Award
$20,000 for a playwright to develop a play, emphasizing positive values.

21 August – ISPA 2027 Pitch New Works EOIs
Share new projects at the International Society for Performing Arts 2027 New York Congress. Present your work to a delegation of global performing arts industry professionals. There is a non-refundable application fee of 50 USD.

24 August – FRINGE WORLD The Next Act Fund
Up to $5,000 for artists. Present new work at FRINGE WORLD 2027 in Perth.

25 August – ACT Environment Grants (ACT)
Up to $25,000 for community projects that help their local environment and connect people to nature.

27 August – Australian Writers’ Guild: The Shane and Cathryn Brennan Prize
Playwrights can submit unproduced plays across two categories: Stage; and Theatre for Young Audiences. Winners receive $10,000 each in prize money. Only open to members of the Australian Writers’ Guild.

28 August – CAD Factory CASE Incubator National Residency EOIs
Year-long professional development for mid-career socially engaged artists. $3,000 artist fee and a $4,000 project budget provided. Travel, accommodation and per diems are provided for in-person residencies in Sydney.   

28 August – Dance Dialogues (Regional NSW)
One-day gathering in Warners Bay on the future of regional NSW dance. 

30 August – Adelaide Fringe Poster Competition
Design the poster for the 2027 Fringe and win $10,000. The theme is “Fringe for everyBODY”.

31 August – officine CAOS Differenti Sensazioni 2026/2027
For cross-disciplinary performing artists to present work in Italy. Artists receive accommodation, and a reimbursement of 1,000 EUR.

31 August – Helpmann Fellowships (SA)
Up to $7,500 for emerging creatives. Develop new work or undertake professional development. Open to final-year students and graduates at Adelaide University and Flinders University.

31 August – Performing Lines NSW Regional Producers Initiative
Opportunities for producers, and self-producing artists. There’s a five-day residency and skills-development program with $600 honorarium; $1,500 for professional development; and free one-on-one mentorship. Info session on 18 August.

1 September – Creative Australia Arts Projects for Individuals and Groups
Between $10,000 and $50,000 for arts projects and activities.

2 September – Contemporary Asian Australian Performance Spinning Plates
Monthly lunchtime online catch-up for Asian Australian producers and artists. Up next: ‘Triage clinic’ for producers to workshop questions with peers.

8 September – CreateSA Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Grants Projects
Up to $25,000 to develop and present new work. Open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, groups and organisations.

14 September – Arts Access Victoria Stella Young Award 2026
$3,000 for a young disabled artist aged 16–30. The award recognises the artist’s impact on disability activism through their artistic practice.

15 September – Creative Australia Matched Funding
$25,000 matched funding for orgs in the early stages of fundraising. $10,000 matched funding for artists and groups to build on existing private sector fundraising. $50,000 matched funding for orgs with advanced fundraising capability.

30 September – The Hamer Sprout Fund
Up to $5,000 for projects to help engagement in environmental action. Advocate for environmental sustainability, foster collaboration between young people in environmental leadership, and more.

Adelaide Fringe Producer Mentorship EOIs
For experienced producers interested in mentoring emerging producers during Fringe 2027. The program offers up to $2,500 for mentor and mentee fees.

Adelaide Fringe External Advisory Committees EOIs
Contribute expertise and shape Adelaide Fringe’s Action Plans.  EOIs are open for Adelaide Fringe’s Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group and their Sustainability Advisory Committee. Members are paid $80 per meeting.

Dates for the disability-led arts initiative celebrating Deaf and Disabled artists have been announced. The program will feature performances, workshops, a symposium, and more.

AMaGA Victoria – Speaking Plainly: Honest Conversations for a Sector in Transition Recordings
Watch recordings from AMaGA Victoria’s forum on organisational change, adaptation, and sustainability. There is a panel on Case Studies in Transition, and opening remarks from Sophie Lieberman.

8 August – Backbone Youth Arts Workshops (QLD)
Workshops include how to make engaging work for 0–3-year-olds, and exploring confidence through burlesque. Cost: $30–40.  

14 August – Youth Affairs Council Victoria HEY Grants
Up to $10,000 for LGBTIQA+ projects. There are two streams: projects could be youth-led, by people under 25, or for orgs that seek to improve their support for LGBTIQA+ young people.

15 August – SIGNAL Grant Writing for Young Creatives Workshop
Free grant-writing workshop for artists aged 16–25. Learn how to prepare a strong application, understand assessment criteria, pitch your project, and more.
 
18 August – Youth Week WA Grants (WA)
Up to $20,000 to deliver events as part of Youth Week WA 2027.

23 August – Youth Dance Makers Initiative Fundraising Festival (VIC)
A day of performances and dance workshops for emerging artists at Dancehouse. Cost: pay-as-you-feel.

28 August – Monkey Baa Go & See EOIs (NSW)
For artists working in the CYPA sector. Attend Sydney Opera House’s inaugural international festival for children and participate in peer exchange. Meals and $250 per day provided.

7 September – Arts Tasmania Organisations Youth Arts Funding
Deliver activities that engage young people under 25. Up to $80,000 for orgs. Develop their creative skills and enhance their health and wellbeing.

21–24 September – NICA’s Youth Circus Exchange (VIC)
Program includes workshops, skill sharing, and training. For emerging artists aged 11–21. Cost: $480 for the four days.

30 September – The Robert Juniper Award for the Arts (WA)
$10,000 for a person under 35. The scholarship can be used to support your future development and education as an artist. Applicants must have a strong association to the Shire of Mundaring in Perth.

3 October – Arena Theatre Creativerse Workshops (VIC)
Creative workshops for children aged 4–14. Build performance skills, movement and sound to create a story, design a reptile costume, and more. Workshops are broken down by age group. Cost: $5.

Australian Youth Affairs Coalition Youth Blog
For people aged 12–26 to contribute their thoughts to AYAC’s Youth Blog. Write about a subject that you’re passionate about. Writers are paid a $75 honorarium.

Making Histories: Young People as Visual Historians of Changing Cities (VIC)
Develop creative approaches to history-making with your community. For young people aged 18–25 in Melbourne or Geelong whose histories have been under-represented or misrepresented in national images and archives. Work on a paid research project with RMIT and Deakin University.

10 August – Under Construction Residencies
Two-week residencies for CaPT artists to develop new work. Flying Fruit Fly Circus in Albury offers $5,000, accommodation, and support for a work-in-progress showing. Circus Centre Melbourne offers $5,000 and mentorship. Adelaide Fringe x Circus Centre Melbourne is offering SA artists $2,500 project funding, $3,000 artist fee, flights and accommodation.

14 August – National Institute of Circus Arts Auditions (VIC)
Auditions are open for NICA’s accredited courses in 2027.  

21 August – Palestinian Circus Online Coaching
